Set Up Self-Service GateKeeper Kiosk

This guide will walk you through how to build an all-in-one self-service kiosk solution with CrisisGo GateKeeper.

Updated over 4 weeks ago

TIP: Once set up, the system allows visitors to complete the check-in process independently, without assistance from Front Desk staff. The ecosystem is designed to be a fully self-service solution.

To set up a self-service GateKeeper Kiosk ecosystem, you usually follow four steps:

  1. Register your kiosk with the CrisisGo GateKeeper system and complete its configuration.

  2. Assign a label printer to the kiosk.

  3. Role-play as a visitor to test the system.

  4. Install the kiosk and printer bundle at the building gate.

Let's follow the detailed instructions below to get started.

1. Register Kiosk Devices

2. Assign the Label Printer to the Kiosk

To print a visitor badge from the GateKeeper Kiosk, you must assign at least one label printer to the kiosk.

NOTE: The Brother QL-820NWB is the only label printer officially supported by CrisisGo for Wi-Fi printing. Other models may work but are untested, and we cannot guarantee compatibility or provide support for their Wi-Fi printing.

3. Role-Play as a Visitor

Before installing all the parts—such as the printer and the kiosk—onto the tablet stand, we recommend testing the system by role-playing as a visitor. Below are the expectations for this process:

  1. The visitor approaches the kiosk and follows the on-screen instructions to enter their name, email, scan their photo ID, and complete the self-check-in process.

  2. After a successful check-in, the label printer automatically prints a visitor badge.

  3. The visitor then takes the badge and enters the building.

NOTE: If set up correctly, the system allows visitors to complete the check-in process independently, without assistance from Front Desk staff. The ecosystem is designed to be a fully self-service solution.

4. Install All Parts onto the Stand

After successfully testing the system, it's time to install both the kiosk and the printer onto the tablet stand, set them up, and position them at the building entrance.
