Installing Brother Label Printer Drivers and SDKs

Updated over a week ago

IMPORTANT: Download all required drivers and SDKs only from this page. Because not all drivers and SDKs are compatible with CrisisGo GateKeeper, using different versions may result in unexpected issues.

If you have already installed any drivers or SDKs that previously worked with other systems, please ensure that you uninstall all previously installed drivers and SDKs before downloading and installing the specific versions listed below.

1. (Required) Brother Printer Driver

Click the button below to download the CrisisGo GateKeeper–compatible Brother printer driver.

Make sure to install the driver on the device you want to connect your Brother printer to. e.g., if you want to print label badges from your Windows Kiosk, install this driver on that kiosk.

Installation Notes

1. During the driver installation, ensure you choose the correct Connection Type; you cannot use wired and wireless networks at the same time.

2. For wireless printing (aka. print via Wi-Fi), please do not use any USB cable. Although the Brother installer may recommend it, using a USB cable will cause the installer to install both local USB drivers and Wi-Fi drivers for your Brother printer. This can result in conflicts and multiple Brother printers being detected in CrisisGo GateKeeper later.

2. (Required) Brother b-PAC SDK

Click the button below to download the CrisisGo GateKeeper compatible Brother bPAC SDK.

Make sure to install the b-PAC SDK on the device you want to connect your Brother printer to. e.g., if you want to print label badges from your Windows Kiosk, install this SDK on that kiosk.

WARNING: This b-PAC SDK is required to allow CrisisGo apps to identify your printer and send printing commands to your printer. Without this SDK installed, the CrisisGo app cannot find your Brother printer.

3. (Required) Test Your Brother Label Printer

Once the drivers and SDKs mentioned above have been installed correctly, verify that the Brother Label Printer is functioning properly before proceeding with CrisisGo GateKeeper.

Please refer to Brother's official User Guide for detailed instructions on how to print a test label from your computer using P-touch Editor.

4. (Optional) Clean Uninstallation

In some cases, you may need to perform a clean uninstallation of the existing drivers and then reinstall our compatible versions listed above. Here's how to uninstall the drivers cleanly.

WARNING: Ensure you complete all steps listed below without skipping any step; otherwise, your uninstallation may not be clean.

For Windows 11

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, then uninstall all Brother-related applications — that is, remove all programs whose names begin with “Brother”.

  2. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select each Brother printer, click Remove device, and confirm. Continue until all Brother printers have been removed.
