CrisisGo Smartwatch App (CGSA) FAQs

Updated over 5 months ago

1. Why can't I see a QR code on the CGSA home screen after granting permissions on Apple Watch?

This is most likely because the CGSA has no network connection on your Apple Watch. Please refer to question 2 below.

2. Why doesn't the CGSA have network connectivity after being installed on an Apple Watch?

If your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone, the CGSA may not have a network connection after installation in most cases. Consequently, you will be unable to access any function until the issue is resolved.

This is a known issue with Apple Watches paired with iPhones. To resolve it, try rebooting your paired iPhone after installing the CGSA or shutting down your iPhone while conducting the demo. We understand this may be inconvenient and are actively working with the Apple Developer Team to address this matter.

3. Why can't I find any alert options on the app's home screen?

If you cannot see any alert options on the home screen and instead receive a message stating, "You only receive alerts…", it is likely because the user account you are binding to has not been properly configured by your IT Admin. Please contact your IT Admin for assistance.

4. Does CGSA work with a Wi-Fi-only watch paired to a phone outside the building?

CGSA runs standalone on the watch. As long as the watch has a network connection, CGSA will function properly. There's nothing to do with CGSA. So, the question becomes: "Does a WiFi-only watch paired with a smartphone still have a network connection outside of the building?"

The answer is: it depends. Based on our experience, some WiFi-only watches can share the paired smartphone’s cellular network when no WiFi is available. In that case, the watch will have a network connection, and CGSA will work. However, there are other types of watches that only work with WiFi. That means, regardless of whether they are paired with a smartphone or not, if there is no available WiFi outside of the campus, the watch will have no network connection, and CGSA will not function.

The key issue here isn't whether CGSA works or not — it's whether the watch itself has a network connection when outside of the campus.
